At Castro, our Gifted Learning Center is a place designed for students to learn and explore in a hands-on environment. From microscopes to models, and a library designed to expose and expand the minds of our young gifted students, the environment is a stimulating, creative, exciting place within which to learn and grow.
The Gifted and Talented (GT) Program includes participation in the Scripps-Howard National Spelling Bee, opportunities for gifted students to complete interest-driven, personalized projects, and opportunities to participate in a variety of district competitions including Science Fair. Destination Imagination will be coming back to Castro’s GT program this year, and we will once again participate in the DPS Young Author’s Celebration. Instruction in the GT classroom is differentiated to meet the advanced needs of our gifted learners, providing stimulating problems that promote critical thinking skills and mathematical precision. At Castro, we are “Dedicated to Excellence.”
